I desperately need Help. How do I set levels so that player ship starts out with certain power-ups already active.
Just curious. :?:

In the level editor. Select edit then level properties in the drop-down menu or you can just press 'M' as a shortcut.
General is where you name your round etc.
Click on power-ups next to general then click on <New automatic slot>
It will come up as '!Use level defaults' You can change it by clicking on the white arrow next to it.
You can add as many as you wish.

As an additional point, this is also the place to "disable" particular powerups for the whole level. If you have lots and lots of rings, you need to disable the ball generator (if player gets a ball generator and starts plowing through the rings the game will come to an almost-stop). The section under Automatic powerups is Disallowed powerups - anything you choose in here will NOT be given out when a powerup is destroyed, unless you've got that individual powerup set to release only that kind.

one more point on disabling power ups -- if you have bricks that change to invisible, you should disable the acid ball.

i know there's another topic for this, but since shaz pointed out the problems with the ball generator, i thought it'd be good to throw this in here too.
