Thank you for posting this, James. It's a very good reminder for all of us.

This should also be prominently posted in the FAQ area. Then the moderators will have a clearer idea of what is and is not acceptable.

Will this mean that the moderator (hopefully multiple moderators for check and balances) must also follow the same rules stated in the first two sentences of paragraph two if the new Forum(s) do start back up?

Q: why have these 'rules' not apparently been acted upon? Surely the Porch would still be up and running if someone was 'responsible' to implement them?

I just presumed everyone understood these boundaries :?
Granted not all have common sense to interpret but hey, a good moderator makes things 'work' and takes responsibility surely?

This may be time consuming but it is hardly rocket science. :?

The front porch has been a relatively unmoderated part of the forum. And while we LIKE to think people will treat each other with respect, some people just think the internet removes the need for common courtesy (or maybe they're just rude to everyone). It shouldn't be up to James or any other one person to monitor everything that goes on - there aren't enough hours in the day to do the work that NEEDS to be done and also babysit adults who can't behave as adults. I think James has a lot on his plate now, and is planning to move the forum to a new server sometime soon, and the community part of the forum will probably move a little higher on his list after that happens.
