Not one of my best ideas, but I might as well throw it out here. Since I love to criticize PUs, you can feel free to bash this idea (within reason) if you didn't like my opinions.

The PU icon looks like a red venn diagram figure.
The moment your ship catches this, the ball splits into, like, 20 balls. Or some other big number.
The thing is, only one of them is real. The rest do not break anything, but still bounce off your ship, go through teleporters, etc.
All this bad PU does is confuse you. Since it's pretty much impossible to juggle all of them, you have to know which is the real one, and just ignore the rest.
Over time, if they don't go out of bounds, the fake balls fade out on their own, some faster than others. All fade out if the real ball goes out, or (maybe?) if you grab the Normal Ball PU.
Grabbing a ball powerup still affects the fake balls, but they still don't do anything. For example, if you grab a Laser Ball PU, all balls turn into laser balls and act like them... but their lasers won't do anything.

PU name can also be called Doppleganger or Fake Ball Split. I dunno.

I think the balls shouldn't bounce of the ship.


And i also have a good idea about it.
If you gateer it 2 times the balls will 'brake' the bricks but they only hide.
When all fake balls are gone the bricks reveal back.

Would they hit bumpers and deflectors? Because if they didn't then that would actually make them obvious. :wink:

Yes. Maybe I didn't explain that clearly enough. The fake balls are affected by everything like the real ball, but they don't affect anything else in turn. They don't break bricks, for example.
